The painting on the CD cover, and on the home page of the site, is of CPR Engine 147. This work horse served on the Winnipeg to Calgary run, shortly after regular service began in the fall of 1883. In its previous life it was government engine No. 5, aka "Empress of India." The engine was acquired when CPR took over the government built main line between Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay) and Rat Portage (now Kenora) (CPR Archives).

Songs of the Iron Trail is a digitized and reordered version of the 1983 vinyl album of the same title. Research on the songs has been updated. All rights are reserved.
